About Francis Ramos
Hey there! I’m Francis Ramos. I’m an engineering student turned freelancer, video editor, and aspiring entrepreneur.
Who am I?
Hey friends. I’m Francis Ramos. I’m a former engineering student turned freelancer, video editor, and content creator. I’ve been editing videos professionally for over 3 years now along with my own TikTok and YouTube content in the Dungeons and Dragons space.
This page is a little self-absorbed since it’s all about me 😅. Hopefully, you’ll find something interesting.
Quick Facts About Me
I studied petroleum engineering for 6 years at Texas Tech University, graduating in 2020.
I’m 28 years old, born in April 1996 in Chicago, Illinois. Now I live in Houston, TX.
I started my YouTube channel in 2019 as a Dungeons and Dragons (D&D) podcast.
My first videos were about oil and gas engineering to help my classmates. Now I make content about D&D, productivity, tech, and more to share ideas and build stories
My Journey from Engineering Student to Creator
My content creator journey started way back in middle school when YouTube was brand new. My biggest inspiration was Freddie Wong’s content where he made funny, weird gaming/vfx videos that showed his authentic self. Since then, I got hooked. Little by little, I would teach myself how to use a camera, how to edit videos, how to speak to a camera, and more. I even joined my high school’s media team.
In college, I pursued a bachelor’s of science in Petroleum Engineering. I loved solving math and science problems and on top of that, I adored the petroleum engineering community. But during my time, I found a problem: nobody could communicate. Students wouldn’t understand the teachers and vice versa, lesson plans were extremely difficult to visualize, and concepts felt alien to a common student just getting started. So to combat that, I made a few short videos re-teaching the lessons. And my classmates would find them helpful.
I graduated college in May 2020 during the start of the COVID pandemic. Nobody was hiring at the time and I needed to pay bills, so I started freelancing my video editing skills. And in doing so, I reinvigorated my love for making content. Putting together stories, sharing ideas, and meeting like-minded people brings me great joy. And I haven’t looked back since then.
